High School Senior Session FAQs

what to expecT-

Senior sessions should feel comfortable and relaxed. I want you to be yourself- even though I am a lady/mom with a camera. We will talk and move around a lot. Most session take an hour. But there is not a set time limit. It’s totally fine to have a person come along (like mom) to watch for hair and shirttails, but I equally work without a tag along. Sometimes one on one is more productive. My senior sessions always end with big smiles!

where?

We’ll put our heads together and decide on a place that works for your style. I often work in a senior’s yard and neighborhood. You’d be surprised where all the magic takes place.

when?

I always want to photograph in the most flattering daytime light. That means early morning or late afternoons. Usually an hour and a half before sunset. Anytime of year will work, but dripping hot summer and early fall days can be uncomfortable.

what to wear?

Some seniors like to change outfits midway, some are fine with one outfit. If you choose to change, then consider one dressier and one casual. Wear colors that flatter you. Wear what you feel good in. It’s best to avoid fussy patterns and super saturated colors ie red, magenta, neons. I think it’s fun to add in a few fun pieces that really scream you- like special shoes or a fun jacket.

what happens after the photoshoot?

I hand edit the standout images from a session and put them in an online, private gallery for you to go through. Typically, you will have 25-30 images in your gallery. You can decide from there what products work best for you- digitals, prints, framed prints.
